What A Weekend!

Hello everyone! Today, instead of a creative share, I wanted to share what I did this past weekend. I know I do not talk too much about personal stuff, but I wanted to share this, because it was so much fun! If you live in Michigan, you need to visit Jessica and Holly at the Cropping Daze Retreat. These gals are simply amazing. My friend Ruthie and I ventured to Chesaning Michigan for our weekend away to craft. Ruthie loves to scrapbook and she is darn talented doing so and I was on a mission to make cards.. LOTS of cards for all of YOU – for inspiration!

Check this out.. I packed just a few things… (uhuh.. holy cow, right?)

Loaded Jeep

Ruthie, where are you going to put your stuff? Oops! Don’t worry, I took a turn really fast to shift everything to the left so she’d have room! (ha!)

This was my first time going to a weekend crop. Ruthie filled me in a bit on what to expect but.. I had NO idea I’d be pampered like we were! Holly and Jessica were such awesome hostesses! When we arrived to check in, we were greeted with a smile. Being an innkeeper, I was ready for a little time to be the guest, and I loved every minute of it. Holly showed us around the house, we made ourselves comfy in our room, unloaded our car, and went to town crafting like wild women. Yes.. very wild with our paper cutters and adhesives. Watch out.. we were out of control! LOL

So, I thought I’d share a few photos of our weekend. The gals fed us well. The food was fabulous! We ate, and ate.. and ate.. they made everything from scratch. Did I say, it was really yummy?? I do not want to weight myself.. I better just get back to Zumba, that is all I can say! Here is the cute retreat home..

So our meals went like this.. snack, dinner, snack, breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, breakfast – wowee! Here are some food pictures for you to enjoy.. at each sitting our table was decorated differently. These gals so rocked! All those little details.. so cool!

Mmm Meal Time

Saturday Dinner

There was a great group of ladies there. I think there was 10 of us total. By Saturday night, we were all getting tired and giggly – a little punchy – all in good fun!

Did I say that the meals were amazing – one of my favorites was the corn bread pudding. Oh my gosh, it was yummy!

Friday Dinner

And, I have to show you this.. because the Banana Foster French Toast rocked my world, AND.. the presentation was just stinkin adorable!

Saturday Breakfast

Here is my partner in crime, Ruthie. She was going to town on her scrapbooking! I made her a little gift to take home, too! It is something I was wanting to make .. one for me.. one for her.. Ill show more of it to you later in an upcoming blog post. *wink*

A Gift For Ruthie

OH .. and here was my “workspace”.. an 8 foot table all for me! Woot!

My Workspace

Some of the big stack of cards that I did complete – I’d have gotten a few more done, BUT.. I forgot a few things (yes, even with all that stuff, I DID forget a few things!)

My Card Creations

Look at these fancy schmancy drinks they made us! Delish and alcohol free Strawberry Daquaries! OH and chocolate fondue w/ fresh fruit, and pizza calzones – Yummoooo!

Cheers!

And before you know it.. Sunday Morning arrived and our “last meal” was served with a smile. I want to thank Holly and Jessica for a truly amazing weekend away. My expectations were far exceeded and I loved the details.. the turning down of the sheets each night with a treat on our pillows (loved that), the yummy food, the pretty place settings at each meal, and making sure each of us had everything we needed – just a great place for a crafting weekend. We had a few sewing, I stamped cards, and there were scrapbookers. It was a great group and I just had a wonderful time! Thank you again, Holly and Jessica. I hope to return again soon! You two, rock! Your hospitality and your smiles and kindness will not be forgotten. You made us all feel so welcome!
