Hi Everyone! It has been a while since I’ve posted some actual paper craft stuff. Yikes! It is that time of year.. the Inn is a little busier and the grounds take time to keep up (at least until a groundskeeper is found, which is being worked on) and things may even out a tiny bit. Anyway.. today has been a mellow day and I got to sneak downstairs. I wanted to stamp.. but my creative mojo was not cooperating. So, off to the blogs I went.. to seek inspiration. How do you seek inspiration? When I am out and about.. Im always looking at things for inspiration – color combos, a pattern I see that I may like.. etc. This I found on Vicki Burdick’s blog today. This instantly brought back some childhood memories and a smile on my face. I can remember when my parents bought me pinwheels and how much I loved to see them twirl in the wind. So, I decided to make a few. This was so easy and they turned out so cute. You are getting a “sneak peek” at some NEW DSP (designer series paper) that is in the NEW Catalog that will be available to order from starting June 1st. Have you gotten your catalog? If you do not have a demonstrator, and would love to get your hot little hands one one, please contact me by going HERE . In the meantime.. lets peekie at this pretty card.. and again thank you to Vicki for her awesome inspiration – I was able to stamp today.. YAY!
So, how do I make these pinwheels? Simple… just use a square piece of paper.. any size (I used a 3 inch square).. and I folded the paper like a diamond each direction, I then cut the score lines into the middle but not all the way to the middle.. and then going in the “right” direction, folded each corner in, and held it together using a brights glimmer brad. Pretty snazzy eh? I used lollipop sticks from Wilton that I found laying around in my studio and adhered to the card using a few Stampin` Dimensionals. I love this new DSP. It is bright and cheerful and just reminds me of summer! Here is a diagram to sort of visually explain what I just tried to say – I’m a visual person, so maybe this will help:
See! Easy peasy! And, you can make then any size.. so the sky is the limit! I hope this has inspired you to make a few pinwheels of your own! Have a great rest of your holiday weekend and take time to get creative and inky! Thank you so much for stopping by!
