Its Our 1st Glimmer and Glam Girls Blog Hop! Mothers Day / Feminine Cards!

Welcome everyone to our first Glitter and Glam Girls Blog Hop! Don’t you just dig the name? Its so us! We are so excited to offer you some amazing inspiration and talent with our group! So, grab a cup of your favorite beverage and let’s enjoy some fantastic Stampin Up! creativity!

As our Annual and Occasions Catalogs come to a close, I wanted to see how I could use up more of my Designer Series Paper. I’m trying to release the hoarding of our beautiful DSP (Designer Series Paper). I mean.. sure, its beautiful, right? But, it serves no purpose to keep it in its packaging and not use. THAT makes me sad! Lets use it and spread the joy to others who may need a hug in an envelope. Reaching out to others and making them smile and feel better is WHY we all make cards!

On that note, I have a great way for you to use up all those scraps you have. I am “mashing up” the Incredible Like You Stamp Set, with the Happiness Blooms Suite of product. These are a couple of my favorites and I think they go so well together!

Let’s check it out:

Love it, right? And, all 4 cards use the exact same layout! I just changed up the patterns of our DSP , color of card stock, and the colors of ink.. and walah!

So, lets get to some digits and a recipe:

The card is 4 1/4 x 11 inches and scored at 11 inches

The first layer is the same color card stock and cut at 4 x 5 1/4 inches and after building the “front” i then added this entire piece with dimensionals.

The strips of DSP is 1 x 4 inches.

The Whisper White card stock square is cut at 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches.

So, first, choose what designer series paper you are going to use. Pick coordinating colors of card stock that match the DSP.

HELPFUL HINT: Did you know, when you purchase our designer series paper, if you look on the back label, Stampin Up! now lists all the coordinating colors in our 58 color palette family? I know right? Super coolness!

Once you have picked out your patterned DSP and card stock, you are ready to rock it with some coordinating inks!

Don’t forget the dimensionals.. I use these like I eat chocolate.. a LOT!  I attached the card stock to the base with them, I also used them on the square white piece.

Oh.. and don’t forget the bling! WE CANT have that! Add some of those beautiful rhinestone jewels to it to add some sparkle and “glam” – and you’re done.

You may want to decorate the envelope too.. I hate to see those left naked! *gasp*

Now, let’s hop around and check out the amazing talent of my friends!

  2. I love how each card uses the same layout but they all look different. I love the simplicity of the design. Great way to use up the DSP!
