Here is what Mary had to say about her project: “One of the best things about digital is how versatile each kit really is. It really is okay to use a holiday themed kit for a back to school layout. My daughter, who is special needs, typically has a hard time adjusting, but not this year! It was something I really wanted to document. A ‘white space’ layout is completely my style – I usually frame and place my photos first and then build my layers around them. I think a title can be bold or really simple and journaling and telling the story is a must.”

“One of my favorite things about stamp overlays is that they give you the ability to create your own Designer Series Paper. You can crop them, change the color or the opacity – you can even layer them for a completely custom look. Endless possibilities, my friends! Endless!
With this page I was able to use four different overlays from the Modern Medley Overlay Kit. That’s right – four on one page! I began by cropping strips of three of my favorite overlays. Once I started adding color I started to get really excited – and when I get that giddy feeling I know I’m on the right track with my design! I added a fourth overlay under the first three and turned the opacity way down to 20 percent. I just wanted to add some subtle interest there, nothing that would compete with the other overlays.
Combining different patterns is one of my favorite ways to add interest to a layout and Modern Medley Overlays are perfect for the job. It’s my new go-to kit for my layouts. You’ve got to give this one a try!”
